Parents: As you log into your child's chromebook for the first time. It is possible that you will open up to a page called TestNav. You will need to exit this screen any time it opens. You do this by pushing "ctrl+alt+s". You can also power down and reboot until it goes away. If you have problems, please reach out to your child's teacher. They should be able to assist you.

Chromebooks are being delivered today and tomorrow. Hotspots will not be delivered till next week. Parents/guardians and students please remember since the student has to login to the chromebook to get access that every site that you go on is traceable by WCC. Either Officer Reeves will deliver or one of the school vans. Enjoy this beautiful day!!

It's time to sign up for Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year! Completing this form (link included at end of message) does not register the child. Due to registration being cancelled, we wanted to have an opportunity to find out who is coming to Kindergarten. This allows us to get contact information so we can inform you when registration has been set. If you know someone who has a child enrolling in Kindergarten at WCC, please share this link with them.

Jewel Stewart 1005 min. Bethany Reiser 1000 min. Allison Turney 675 min. Nicholas Birmingham 645 min.! Thank you for supporting our schools!

Bear Nation:
I hope that everyone has enjoyed a great Spring Break, even if it was a little stranger than usual. WCC is very concerned regarding the families that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that education is very important but the safety and welfare of your families is of greater importance. With that said, it is much more important that you take care of personal needs first and worry about the education secondarily.
WCC wants to be able to serve the needs of our students, families, community, as well as our staff and faculty. We want to provide continued learning opportunities for our kids. We also understand that the stress on each family is significant at this time and some have lost income and are facing hardship during this uncertain time.
Instruction - Students should currently have AMI packets 1-10 that need to be completed by this Friday, April 3rd. (Our website contains these packets if they have been misplaced) These completed packets can either be photographed and emailed to their respective teacher (email addresses are on our website, but most follow the pattern of first initial, last name@wcccsd.k12.ar.us, for example mine is dstanley@wccsd.k12.ar.us) or they can be given to bus/van drivers when they deliver lunches beginning next Monday, April 6th. Next week, April 6-10 we will be using online instruction for those that have connectivity to the internet. We have purchased portable hotspots for families that do not have wifi service in their household. We are hoping that these devices will arrive before this week is over and that we can get them distributed next week. Some remote areas might not have good enough cell service available even with the hotspots and we will have to adjust our delivery of instruction in those situations. We will also be working on a plan to disburse chromebooks to households that do not have a device for their child(ren) to use.
Food Service - We began our food service delivery today and will continue to deliver this week at 11:00 with lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following day. Beginning on Monday, April 6th the delivery will only be twice per week. We will deliver Mondays for meals for Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday for meals for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Again the deliveries will begin at 11:00 from the school on those days. Please contact the school at 501-729-4292 if you have been overlooked by these deliveries.
Look for innovative ways for you to help your children learn while at home. Some skill development could include cooking, fishing, journaling this pandemic, puzzles, board games, music, art, playing outside, working with tools, and this list could go on and on. Look for these ways to help your student grow in ways above and beyond the educational school work. Please find time to read to and with your kids.
We have asked our teachers to limit their instructional time to no more than 30 minutes per each core subject per day to allow students time to not only complete their work but also to take advantage of some extra time at home for other activities. Please contact your teacher if you have any questions.
We are practicing social distancing at the school and will have limited personnel on campus on any given day until the pandemic is over. The phones will be forwarded to our administrators during school hours beginning this Friday, April 3rd until the pandemic is over. Please call if you have questions and someone will get back with you as soon as possible to answer them for you.
We have a fantastic staff/faculty that miss their kids so badly right now and look forward to the time we can be together again. Thank you for your patience and grace as we try and figure this thing out together. We LOVE your kids.
Bear Pride will continue to be evident in this community even in the face of adversity.
Dean Stanley

Breakfast and Lunch for week of March 30:
For Monday, March 30 - buses will be leaving WCC at 7am to deliver breakfast and at 11am to deliver lunch (breakfast for the next day also). Starting on Tuesday, March 31- Friday, April 3 - buses will leave at 11am only to drop off lunch/breakfast (for next morning). If you want a meal please be at your bus stop during those times. The bus will stop only if there are people present to get a meal. If you do not usually ride the bus you can still be at a bus stop to get a meal. No AMI packets will be picked up by the buses during the week of March 30 -April 3. You can take a picture of your AMI work with your phone and email it to your teachers.

YEARBOOK UPDATE:
As we all adapt to change, one thing that remains constant is the yearbook tradition of documenting the history of our students and capturing their school year forever. We are pleased to announce that the White County Central High School yearbook adviser and staff are working hard to complete the yearbook and make sure it is printed.
Since copies are limited and school schedules continue to change, we ask that you please order your yearbook online as soon as possible.

WCC Parents- If your child receives a Friday food bag, and you would like to get it filled, please go to Clearwater Baptist Church tomorrow, Friday, between 9:00 and 12:00. The church is located on hwy 157, about 2 miles south of school.

This is just a reminder that this week, March 23-27, is Spring break. There will be no food deliveries or food available on campus due to this. Please stay safe and healthy.
