
The Governor stated in his press conference today that the CDC has recommended that schools remain open unless the COVID-19 has been diagnosed within your county. International research has shown that closing schools is not an effective means in keeping this virus contained. WCC will remain open until we receive word from ADH that gives us a directive to close.

White County Central School Special Education Department will be destroying special education records for students who exited the program prior to the 2014-2015 school year. Parents, Guardians, and students of the age of majority who would like to obtain personal records can do so by contacting:

"The Softball Tournament that was scheduled for tomorrow, March 14th has been postponed until further notice."

All athletic activities and field trips have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) alert. The AAA has officially suspended all spring activities until at least March 30th. This includes our pee wee schedule.

Update from the AAA regarding the State Basketball Finals in Hot Springs.


The ADH has officially closed schools in the following 4 counties in Arkansas: Jefferson, Pulaski, Saline, and Grant. Schools in all other counties remain open until given a directive to close from the state. We will keep you abreast of any information that we receive.

WCC is aware that some schools have closed due to COVID-19. We will release more information after Governor Hutchinson gives guidance during his 1:45 press conference today.

White County Central is continuing to monitor updates regarding COVID-19. The Governor signed the following executive order yesterday, that stated “the Secretary of Health in conjunction with the Secretary of Education, shall have sole authority to close public schools.”

The high school library is having their Scholastic Book Fair this week. It WILL be open for PT conferences tomorrow evening as well. There is a selection for all ages and some great bargain buys! Make plans to come by!

Reminder: Any 6th-11th grader who wants to try out for cheer needs to turn in paperwork by 8am Friday morning. Packets are available in all offices. 🐻
All tryout material will be opened in Google Drive around 8:15ish Friday morning. They need to work on the tryout material over the weekend.
